One of the main focuses of Student-Centered Learning is constructivism. Constructivism is the idea that people learn and expand on their education from their experiences and reflecting on those experiences. Normally, in a classroom, learners come with their own ideas about certain topics; for example, at my job right now, learners come with previous experience on FAFSA and financial aid. In the classroom, we validate what they know and help understand and present information where they may be incorrect. Here’s a great article on constructivism:http://www.thirteen.org/edonline/concept2class/constructivism/
