Student-Centered Learning is the way we should be training and teaching our learners. This type of learning takes learning and makes the learner the focus of the training/teaching. It shifts from educator to learner; therefore, the learner is given the autonomy for self-learning. This is contrast of how most of us have learned, but if done correctly, student-centered learning can have the most impact on learning and future learning for the student.
The article, Disrupting Class: Student-Centric Education iS The Future: http://www.edutopia.org/student-centric-education-technology provides great examples and rationale of why we should be moving towards this type of learning.
